Sportsmockery.com has several authors writing articles/posts for the site. The site was using a plugin that gathered post view counts for each post, and stored current day counts and “total” counts. So the client had me build some special pages that greatly enhanced what the plugin offered. Unfortunately these pages are only available to logged in users on the site; but I took some screen shots which you can see below:
Built a page for authors to see info on their articles and also how they are doing in comparison to other authors on the site. The page has two sections, information on the current month and also information for their entire career.
Monthly: showed number of articles published, the number of views on those articles, the percentage of those views compared to all articles for that month, and finally the rank of author compared to other authors for that month. Also we show the best and worst post (by views) for the current month.
Career: showed total views for entire career and also listed 10 best articles and 10 worst articles (by view count)…
Post Views Counter
We set this up for the site admins, to begin you select a date range to view post data on. You can also check a box to include posts for each author in that date range as well.
Next you go to a page which shows information for each author’s views/etc in that time range. This includes number of posts published, the count of views for that time period; the percentage of those views compared to all post views, and also the rank of the author.
Finally, We added a function to export all page data into a CSV file as well.
