Graphic Design

Regarding Graphic Design, I have done a little bit of it here and there on most of the sites I have done, but the first site where I did any serious graphic design was on this “pmax” site. This site is still being worked on, it is being done for a client. But it is far enough along for viewing. You may view that site here: http://pmax.gtdsites.com/.

All the pages are not done – but I suggest you check out the “assessment” page. I was able to setup an “animated” menu on the left sidebar. A very minor thing but pretty cool I thought. There are a lot cooler things that can be done this way as well.

There were lots of graphic design things that were done on this site. Some of the major items are:

1. Top navigation menu: made it so there were rounded corners on the menu items; made it so there was “space” in between the items; also made it so there was a gray gradient image for the background on those menu items which then changed to a red image on “hover”…
2. Regarding page backgrounds on the home page; put the red gradient image at top; not hard to do; something more interesting was to have the gray area down lower…
3. Page/Post titles: setup the theme so that every page (except home page) had a red strip of background – and the page title is in there with large white letters with some shadow effects and such which makes it look real good…

There has also been some graphic design on this site as well (gerardsites.com). The menus in the sidebar and the post thumbnails at the bottom of every post are the more interesting items.
